I'm an Aunt!

I normally do not post my personal life on this blog, it is dedicated to my students and their work.  However, my students requested that I post on the blog when my nephew arrived; since I would not be able to tell them because we are out of school on summer vacation.

Anyway, I am officially an Aunt!  Baby Caleb was born on June 24th.  He is perfect in every single way! To see more pictures of Caleb check out our kidblog site!

WT Awards Ceremony and Potluck Lunch Reminder

Please join us on May 29th for the awards ceremony at WT beginning at 10:30.  Also, bring a dish and join us for the potluck lunch at 11:15.  Your child may go home with you after lunch.  Otherwise, we will have a 1 hour early dismissal at 2:30.

Electricity and Circuits

Even though the school year is coming to an end, our learning has not.  We've been busy learning all about electrical circuits this month.  Recently, students conducted an experiment on conductors and insulators.  Many students told me this was their favorite unit in science! YEAH!

Swimming Field Trip!

Yesterday was WT's scheduled trip to the Washington Aquatic Center from 11:30-2:15.  Before we left, the day was dreary, gray, and cold.  As soon as we boarded the buses to take us to Washington the clouds parted and the sun was shining! We enjoyed such a beautiful day at the aquatic center!  I got many great action shots of the students.

Sadie is Queen of the Jungle!

Sadie was our very last Queen/King of the Jungle for this year.  Sadie is eight years old and has one brother and five sisters.  Some of Sadie's favorites include the color blue, dogs, pizza, softball, and her calf, Lucy.  When Sadie grows up she wants to be a nurse.

Mixed Up Fairy Tales Reader's Theater

A few weeks ago we focused our studies in Reading on the genre of Fairy Tales.  We read the traditional fairy tales Cinderella, Yeh-Shen, Rumplestiltskin, The Princess and the Pea, The Frog Prince, and The Pied Piper.  We also read the "Mixed Up" Fairy Tales Waking Beauty, The Frog Prince Continued, The Frog Princess, and The Stinky Cheeseman.

To go along with the Fairy Tale theme we read mixed up fairy tales reader's theater for guided reading.  Please enjoy Spiderella, Little Late Riding Hood, and Golidlocks and the Three Bullfrogs.
