I would like to introduce myself to you. I was raised in Winthrop, a small town in Northeast Iowa. I graduated from East Buchanan High School in 2004. I continued my education at the University of Northern Iowa. In 2008 I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. My first job was teaching fifth grade at West Elementary in Independence from 2009-2010. Currently, I am a third grade teacher at Washington Township.
On a beautiful summer day in June 2009, my husband and I were married.
I have a Yorkie named Toby who is the center of my universe. Toby enjoys napping, going for walks, and rides in the car.
Some of my hobbies include shopping, baking, reading books on my Nook, creating crafts with my Cricut, decorating, fishing, and traveling.
My travels this summer took me all over the Midwest. I visited Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana. I attended a conference in Chicago on Professional Learning Communities, visited family in Missouri and Michigan, enjoyed a girl's weekend getaway to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, and shopped at the famous Shipshewana Flea Market in the beautiful town of Shipshewana, Indiana.
I am thrilled to see where the 2011-2012 year will take me! Wherever it may be I am excited and ready for the journey!
