Thankful

In Language Arts we are learning about common and proper nouns.  We have been able to identify, write, and classify these two types of nouns.  Today in our journal we wrote what we were thankful for because Thanksgiving is in two weeks.  Once we were done with our list we looked for one common and one proper noun.  Mrs. Simon handed each student a small turkey.  We wrote "I am thankful for..." and wrote our one common and one proper noun in a sentence on our turkey.  The proper noun was then underlined in a blue marker and the common noun was underlined with a red marker.  We then used the turkeys to decorate a Thanksgiving themed bulletin board.
