Turkey Glyphs

In Math we made turkey glyphs in preparation for Thanksgiving.

What is a glyph?  A glyph is a pictograph that non-verbally shares information.  Why are we creating glyphs?  Glyphs allow students to collect, display, and interpret data about themselves and other meaningful topics.

Here is the data and how it is represented in our glyphs.

Before hanging up our turkeys we took turns reading each others glyphs as a class.

And here are our finished turkey glyphs!  They look great and many students, parents, and staff have taken time to read our glyphs when walking past our room.
