Laura Ingalls Wilder Day

Today we celebrated Laura Ingalls Wilder Day after studying Native Americans and Pioneers.  We started our day by making cornbread, gingerbread, fruit salad, applesauce, bread, and churning butter.  We ate our delicious pioneer food for lunch.  Many students had second helpings of cornbread and gingerbread!

After lunch we looked at Mrs. Casper's pioneer antiques and watched a slideshow of Laura Ingalls Wilder's life.  Next, we had craft stations which included the tin punch, paper dolls, weaving, quilting, and log cabins.  At the end of the day we ate our snack of applesauce and bread and butter.  While eating our snack we watched a slide show of all the pictures taken from our day.

We had a great day.  Many students shared with me that the day went by too fast and that we should spend an entire week full of Laura Ingalls Wilder activities!
