Meet Mrs. Simon

I would like to introduce myself to you.  I was raised in Winthrop, a small town in Northeast Iowa.  I graduated from East Buchanan High School in 2004.  I continued my education at the University of Northern Iowa.  In 2008 I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.  My first job was teaching fifth grade at West Elementary in Independence from 2009-2010.  Currently, I am a third grade teacher at Washington Township.

I was married in June 2009 to my husband, Aaron.

I have a Yorkshire Terrier named Toby who is currently the center of my universe. Toby enjoys napping, going for walks, and rides in the car.

Some of my hobbies include traveling, shopping, watching The Office, and creating crafts with my Cricut.  Another hobby added to my list in 2007 was fishing, thanks to my husband.

This summer Aaron and I traveled to Aruba to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary.  We went deep sea fishing for half a day with another couple from Boston.  I caught one barracuda and one bonito fish!

While in Aruba, Aaron and I were able to take some amazing pictures while snorkeling and sightseeing.

I can't wait to see what is in store for me, my family, and students.  2010-2011 will be a great year full of learning, fun, and excitement!
