This week Pam, Washington County's Naturalist, came to our classroom to share with us a watershed model. We learned where water pollution comes from: factories, farmlands, construction zones, forestry areas, and residential areas. We also discussed ways which we can help prevent water pollution. Some ways to prevent the pollution were simple. The factories could plant a wetland area near the factory to filter the polluted water. Homeowners need to read the labels on their pesticides and farmers should not till their land to help prevent erosion. We had a great time and learned a lot about pollution and ways to prevent pollution. Thanks for coming Pam!
